Cystadenoma of the Pancreas

Abstract
The majority of pancreas cyst are pseudocyst or retention cysts.
Cystadenoma composes less than 10 per cent of all the cystic lesions of the pancreas.
This rare benign tumor occurred predominantly in middle-aged woman, with the presenting symptoms of pain and an abdominal mass, without a history suggestive of pancreatitis or abdominal trauma.
The most frequent lesion site is the tail of the pencreas.
Symptoms are those of a slowly expanding lesion with general discomfort from pressure and occasional pain aggravated by bending or motion.
Although surgical extirpation is the treatment of choice, undue risk should not be undertaken because of the slow growth rate of this benign tumor.
